About Us
In my junior year of high school, I was looking for summer work. I responded to a want ad in the Sunday Philadelphia Inquirer for a painter’s helper at $4 an hour for painting contractor William Cherry, whose company operated in West Philadelphia. He was a wonderful man—tolerant and patient. Bill taught me the rudiments of painting along with some tricks of the trade. I will always remember him fondly. I found that I liked painting, it fit for me, and I gained an appreciation for the trade. I continued to work for Bill the following summer, and after that summer, I ventured out on my own with the backing and support of my father. That was the fall of 1965; I have been painting now for over 50 years. If practice makes the master, I qualify. I am one of eight children, five boys and three girls. All four brothers over these many years above had their time in the company. Three of them went to other fields of work. One of my brothers, Kevin, worked with me from the very beginning. He recently passed in April 2015 after 8 long years of battling lymphoma cancer. We were true blue partners for the journey, and I feel he is still working with us on the other side. I have five nephews, all of whom have put in some time with Morrow Bros Painting. It has always been a true family-run business. We have been based predominantly in the Mount Airy and Chestnut Hill area of Philadelphia, as well as the surrounding city and suburbs. We have been blessed with a loyal customer base and maintained friendships that have flourished through the years. Our reputation reflects a quote from the great Vince Lombardi, Hall of Fame NFL coach of the Green Bay Packers: “The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence.” I promise our commitment of excellence to you as I have to the many customers that have used us and continue to do so. Our workmanship reflects the highest professional standards in residential painting.
Sincerely,
Bob Morrow
